Once upon a blistering night; a shadow crept so faintly, so cunningly. With such ebony one would say it was practically invisible. With only three days to Christmas, he was extraordinarily busy, scurrying from house to house... But who is this shadow that lies in the darkness you may ask? Is he a beast so frightening, so Terrifying, that one could not define what lies within? No! He is no more than my companion, Frederick.

Sitting on the soft mossy floor of the lifeful room. Waiting to be presented my reward of a lifetime. As a man in a blue uniform walked up to me and said “congratulations” you have earned this and he handed it to me, in all of its glory my mother and father walked up and put this thing of beauty around my waist. Then I felt a warm tear walk itself down my cheek. I was filled with a proud happiness for what I accomplished. I went to sit back down in my spot and everyone settled back down. I was filled with anxiety. I heard “John” after what seemed like years. I walked up and the man in blue said to me “You did it!” And you know what, I did do it. Feeling the impact of the hard kick. That's when I knew that it was worth it to persevere.

Suddenly the flat horizon opened up into the beautiful, splaying, rolling hills of Butte, North Dakota. I sat suspended in the brownish-green cornfields dotting the gentle rolling hills. Butte rushed up and took away my breath, the small town with approximately 75 people was dotted by houses and businesses. This was going to be a vivacious vacation. As the large grey elevator of Butte came in view, we saw the railroad tracks. Passing over them would bring me to a new world, one with few people and many fields.

The world starts to swirl, the room starts to spin.I feel my feel my feet swaying and I can't stand still. A marionette is what I look like, and the puppet master dropped the strings. My stomach drops. My eyes are confused, my head hurts. The ground gets closer as I feel my feet slip and my eyes close. The ground come closer, faster and faster. Then, everything, stops.

It was the 1st of January, the night before was a tragic one though. It was all fine till there was a knock on the door, like the knock of a tree on glass. This was no ordinary knock though, it was the knock of her. The one that puts hopelessness into your heart when heard, the one that could give you a heart attack in an instant. The door violently came down with a thud. Then everything went white, then black. When everyone woke up the house was in millions of pieces there was snow and water pouring down the broken stairs. She had done it. A Mother Nature attack leaving nothing but a pile of wood. She awaits till next winter to attack again with her freak ice storm.

As I neared the door, screams were daggers piercing the air. My hands shook like mountains during an earthquake. I inhaled deeply, smelling the popcorn infused air, and exhaled, trying to rid my body of the anxiety that was eating away at me. I tried to be calm, and although I was excited, I couldn't get rid of the slight sensation of fear. The haunted house was warmer than the air outside, but it didn't stop the chills from splashing down on me like an unexpected wave.

I breathed a sigh of relief as my masterpiece was complete. I turned around and walked up the hill in my front yard my excitement boiling over in its pot inside of me. Finally I was at the top and I turned around then I bolted down the hill it felt like a 100 years had passed by the time I got down the slope. I leaped high into the air and got the feeling of zero gravity before I plunged back down. As soon as I landed into the pile of leaves it was as if the leaves also wanted to know the feeling of jumping into the air. Then the leaves came back down with a soft thud on top of my back.

It was a spooky Halloween night in the late fall. It was one of those nights where icicles would hang from your lips, and your hair would keep blowing in your face from the wind. Tonight wasn't like any Halloween night. Normally, I would be hearing the joyful laughter from the children. Every Halloween night was the same. The little boys would dress up as their favorite superhero, and all the little girls would dress up as their favorite princesses. All the teenagrers would just put some fake blood on their face, and repeatedly, all you would hear is “Trick-or-treat!” Instead of going out with my family, I just walked on my favorite trail in the woods. I've walked hear millions of times, but never alone, and never at night. One minute I was just walking, but my walking turned into sprinting, and my spriting turned in running. I was running from some animal. Some black figured animal. I stopped dead in my tracks, gasping for air. My heart was beating faster then you could say ‘hi.’ As the animal got closer, I could just barely see its blood red eyes.

I was walking down the dark,dim-lighted alley. BANG! A dark figure came running towards me. He was holding something. The darkness acted as a shield over my eyes allowing nothing within 3 feet of distance to be seen. My face went pale, I felt sick. The dark shadowy figure was getting closer and closer. I could hear sirens off in the distance. My heart was beating so fast, it felt as if it would burst. I went numb feeling like the person running towards me was not a very good person. I sprinted as fast as my legs could carry me. My mind could not think straight. So many different moods were going through my head. I was starting to feel exhausted, my legs told me to stop running and hide but my head told me to keep going and run as fast as I could. The figure started to catch up...he was standing besides me now. In his hand was not what I thought it would have been. I did not know what to do from there, so I ran.

The wind rushed past my face, my feet pounding the track. If I could just outrun the three people in front of me I would be in the lead. My heart beating in my chest, the adrenaline kicked in. I ran my hardest, my mind set on the goal of beating those two people. As the runners passed by I could see the finish line. One person to go, and I would win the race. I started running faster, basically to the point of sprinting. When I thought I could go no faster, I put in all my effort and energy into getting me passed that finish line. As I pounded ahead, the wind roared past me. As I passed the finish line, I start to slow down, and looked behind me. I had won! I walked over and grabbed my water bottle. I gulped it down like an animal that had not drunk water in a year. That was only one race,I thought. I had plenty more to go. Duncan S

As I take a step deeper into the damp dark woods. My heart pounds louder and louder as I go in farther. I see the shadows of trees that frighteningly seem to be getting closer by the minute. The branches are cold dead beasts stretching to grasp me. Then as I hear the snap of a twig, I scream louder than I ever could imagine. To my right, I see a figure in the fogginess of the night. It's almost as if I hear it whispering to me, but I could not make out what it said. It inches closer and closer while the whispers get louder and louder. Still unclear to my ear. As I start to sprint, the trees howl at me like werewolves to a full moon. When I look behind me, it's right on my tail. Yet I fail to make out what it is, a creature of some sort. My heart pounded louder than before, pounding like a drum. As I keep running I feel the sudden jerk down. I realized i was falling, in what you could say, is a bottomless pit. I close my eyes in fear, but when I open them again, I was in my bed. It was all just a dream, not just a dream, a nightmare. I still ponder about how just a dream, could feel so real.

ELA Exploding Moment

As I was strolling through the woods with my friends on a marvelous day I could see a mysterious figure glaring me in the eye from quite a distance. I knew it couldn't be an animal for it was far to human like and it was standing on its hind legs. So we kept on walking till in a matter of minutes a large storm rolled in and as the lighting brightened the sky I saw what the mysterious figure was… It was a cyclopes. As another of God's mighty bolts brightened the sky I saw him coming with the anxiety in his eye; he was thirsty for blood. As the lighting flashed I saw the club he was carrying. We bolted as fast as we could. In a matter of seconds the mythical creature had caught up using what seemed to have needed a tremendous amount of energy. I could hear him panting like a disturbed bear. As we got out of the woods he stopped. It was over we were safe. And we were all relieved.

Today was the day today was the day that I was going to go through the tunnel. I took a deep breath sank to the bottom, and started my journey through the tunnel. When I was about to finish my journey I was ecstatic, and I began to dance in the water. I floated to the surface swam to the shore sprinted to my house found my parents and started chanting “I did it!” “I did it!” “ I did it!” I finally accomplished my lifelong goal of going through the tunnel!

It was just darkness that laid ahead of me. No shadows, no must, no fog, but just plain darkness. As i was walking through the woods i heard the crunching of the leaves beneath my feet. It was plain psithurism no other sounds but nature's music. My hair swayed in the wind. My goosebumps crawled up my body like ivy on the side of a house. I was just walking, i had no destination; nowhere to be. I never realized the harmony which man and nature could have. I sat down on the damp mossy grass and looked at the glimmering stars shining down at me. I felt at peace.

I walked through the bright white daisy field. The air grabbed me like a warm blanket as it rest on my shoulders. With my old chippy wicker basket ,as it pressed up against my my arm. The basket was special to me because it had belonged to my late grandmother. She would take Kenzie and me on half days of school. I am so disappointed that no one kept up with the ground field so they are ripping it down. I have wanted to share me excitement with others. This was my last time to step foot in the field ,but every time I used to go I could hear my grandmother voice calling me as her message floats past my ear,and saying i’m fine.

A funeral is a dreaded event of any man's life. I was just a young lad at the time, naive and unable to fathom the importance or sincerity of the idea of death. The high cathedral ceiling was adorned with representations of greater beings looking down upon us. There was a foul stench lingering in the air that presented the scents of formaldehyde and mold. My fragile lungs took in dust with every shallow breath. The dim lighting shining through the stained glass windows pierced the darkness , a lance through an evil power. The light revealed the coffin ahead. The sounds of quiet sobs accented the somber tone of our echoing
footsteps. It is always a shock to behold, the sight of a permanently dormant relative. I kept asking my Mother “is he asleep,” but she just stood silent as a statue, unable to speak as a thief had taken her words. The open casket seemed to radiate the solemn aura that wrought such grief upon my mother .As the service was underway I took solace in my Grandfather’s arms to shield me from the cruel reality that only exists upon this Earth.

Mocha walked along the streets of Paris, sketching the many beauties around her. As she was walking the sun started to fade away, as it was the moon's turn to arise. She stopped sketching and started to stroll towards a lamp post. Lightly sitting down on the bench, her eyes caught a little girl walking by. “Hello, are you lost?” the little girl stopped walking and looked at Mocha with fear showing in her eyes but also a sign of relief . Mocha then saw the small pink, fluffy bunny in her hands, reminding her of her past. The little girl simply nodded her head. With a warm, comforting smile Mocha said softly “Well shall we bring you home?” Mocha stood up and walked over to the little girl stretching out her hand. The little girl took her hand and mumbled a soft ‘Thank you’.

I was walking through the old eerie abandoned apartment house. The floors were covered with the darkest dirt and the walls were covered with hostile spray paint symbols and letters. The stress of getting caught by a vicious person was tense. I walk an apartment as I see a strange stealthy figure move across the window. My heart was racing at that point. Now I was regretting going into this place. As the figure moved across sliding glass door I hear a slight ruffle of a something as a rat pushes me back out. The figure threw his hands out at me and snagged me I screamed and the figure says, “ Wo, Chill out. Did you order the pizza?” I said with relief, “Thank god I thought you were going to kill me!”

I had just gotten home from the movies. All night I had been ignoring this feeling of being watched. I told myself I was being paranoid. As I got out of the car I heard the leaves slowly shuffling in the wind. I ran to unlock the door and gave it a weak push. The house was silent. I flipped the light switch and bolted upstairs. While I was getting ready for bed I heard a noise like a binder had fallen. I thought it may have just been my dog playing. Then as I kept thinking about it I realized that my dog was still in her kennel. There must have been someone down there I was saying. I knew I had to be courageous and see what was going on. I grabbed the brightest flashlight I could find. As I put my weight onto each stair they screeched an ear piercing sound. As I was on the last step I surveyed every room except one. I peered into the only room left, but all I saw was darkness. - Ava H

One standard gloomy night, I sat in a chair pensive and isolated. I heard a knocking at the front door. I went to go look and all I saw was the somber night. Then yet again I heard another knocking, but it was louder this time. Once again… nothing was there. I heard mumbling voices coming out of the bushes from outside. My hands started trembling almost like a tree dancing in the wind. I discerned a boisterous stomping noise that was coming from the roof. I stood there not knowing what to do. Should I call 911? Should I get a knife? I bolted and got a knife, my hands still shaking. I heard a big “BOO!” coming from the back window. I immediately turned around and it was teenagers being average teenagers.

I was in the huddle when the captain said “double outside go.” I went to my position (outside linebacker). As I walk with swiftness to my position I talk to my teammate Lorenzo. I told Lorenzo that if they come out with a wing and a end to not blitz because I was already blitzing. He said “Okay”. As I line up behind my teammate Darnell I see the offense breaking the huddle. As they break it they all clap synchronized, and it sounded like thunder. The center lines up and with him so does the rest of the line and the backfield. I hear “READY!” I look over to Lorenzo, and he nods. “SET”. I was trusting Lorenzo that he would stay home in case they ran a reverse or some other trick plays. I look at the ball. I see the ball flinch and i go as if i was shot out of a gun! As I'm running I notice that the quarterback tossed the ball to the best player on their team. He had a lead blocker and he was coming straight for me! In a split second decision I decided that if the lead blocker was going to take me down i would take him down with me. So i cut him and hit him right in the shins making him fall like someone just jumped out of an airplane. As I was doing this I realized that if Lorenzo didn’t listen to me the guy would have a touchdown unless our safety could chase him down. If Lorenzo did take my advice it would be a one on one with the running back and i had some confidence in Lorenzo. As I'm getting back up i hear a “BOOM!” I instantly knew that Lorenzo took my advice. I ran over to congratulate him and said “Good job man, good job.”

As I walked forward to the giant menacing machine and the screaming people my stomach started to tighten like when you pull your fingers back when your trying to get out of Chinese finger traps. My family urged me forward to the giant machine that goes up and up and up. I started to go up the stares as they creaked and groaned like a ship on water. When I got to the top I climbed into the old rusty cart and my stomach did another flip. Then it started we went every which way up,down, sideways, and upside down. And just as fast as it started it ended and I got off and nearly threw up.

My small boat bobbed up and down like a broken record of motion. My hands were screaming for they were too sore to go on circling against the mindless current. I had rested the oars of the minuscule skiff down on my midriff. My mouth was parched but the taste of old bread and bits of poultry still lingered in my mouth, and their aroma wafted a reeking gust of wind into my mouth. The currents were steady and pounding, persuading my ears to ring as if I just heard a bomb which gave me sharp jolts of pain. My hands slowly dipped into, and creased the water. I rubbed the water on my skin soothing areas where the it felt like the sun had bit me with burning teeth. If this isn't pain I don't know what is.

I stare out the window, and look across the street at the empty house. I was lonely without someone living there.
The next day, I had a little hope that someone will move into the house, because a day before I told my friend about the house and she was interested in it. I got to school and my best friend, Molly, tells me that she is going to move in the house across the street from me. I nearly screamed when she told me. I was beyond happy! Right away we started planning sleepovers, hangouts, and even parties. A couple days ago she walked up to me and said “three weeks from Tuesday, we move in” we stared at eachother and started smiling. I was grateful that someone my age was finally going to live across the street from me, and I couldn't wait much longer! She started talking about all the things she was going to do with the house and my eyes started lighting up! I told her it was going to be the best day of our lives.
Everyday we walk up to each other and say the number of days that is left till she moved in. I can't believe the day is creepy up on us so fast. I also can't believe I haven’t completely freaked out yet! If she doesn't move in soon though i might just faint!

I was amazed by the massive White Monster. It was glowing with light as I moved slowly up it. I was as tall as the trees when I climbed slowly up the intimidating Monster. I wanted to Conquer it so bad. When I finally got to the peak of the Monster I started to battle it. I went down its biggest and most treacherous slope. I went off one of its many jumps, and landed it. I was about to be done with the slope, but then I saw it. It was the cliff that looked that it was straight down. I started down the cliff. As I went off a jump I felt as I was in slow motion. I finally landed and I was at the base of the Monster then. I pushed myself with my poles slowly to the lift, and I got on again. That was the best skiing trip of my life.

I walked up the cold dead road, with every step the crispy crunch of leaves escaped from underneath my feet. As I galloped up the stairs, I could see at the corner of my eye, a black shadow releasing from the earth and running to the bushes. The little hairs on my back and arms stood up at the sight. As I continued to walk up the mountain of stairs and into the house, I could feel someone watching me from beyond the unspoken shadows. Looking around the abandoned structure, you would of easily believed that it was haunted and had been left at peace for decades. There was strings of web in every nook and cranny and dust blanketing the wood paneled floors.
As I walked up the stairs that screamed for help with every step I made, I could hear extra footsteps that I did not own. In that moment, it felt like time was in slow motion and was playing in rewind. I could feel a frigid breeze sweep across my cheek and leave uninvited goosebumps on me. As I was thrown back into reality, I could hear my name being spoken but then abruptly being blown away by the wind. As I turned around, my heart singing a song of only drums, I could finally see who it was.

But my mom forgot to delete the tabs that she had open; but when my brother went on the computer he went on a tab that and it said something about trains. At first he didn't see where the train was going but a little bit in a matter of seconds he saw where the tickets where going to………………...New York. He freezed like if it had been -10 in the house. It all happened about 7 years ago, my sister and I were playing barber shop in her bedroom with a mini kit she got for christmas. Taylor was pretending to cut my hair and when it was my turn to do her hair the demanding person she is she yelled “ CUT MY HAIR” and the doltish person I am I said okay. The nerve racking child I am I couldn’t just say no she gave me chills down my spine whenever she yelled at me, I was as unnerved by here as a human scared stiff from seeing a lion running after them. I was so petrified I only cut her bangs, by the time we finished playing barber shop my parents yelled up the stairs saying it was time for bed. Hours went by of everyone trying to fall asleep listening to my father’s deafening snores, I finally fell asleep. Hours felt like seconds but my mom didn’t care she pulled me up from under the covers she had a bewildered face and I was muddled by her face expression, she sat me down on the couch and sprinted up the stairs again to go tell my dad, I was little so I didn’t quite understand what they were saying but when my sister came down the stairs she laughed at me with a mindless face expression saying all my hair was gone. I was a child so of course I started to cry, I loved my hair and she just dice my hair right off while I was asleep!

I was going home after a very long long night of family fun. There I was at my cousins family reunion party dreading the time to go home. The thing is, there's nothing fun about the way I have to take to get to my home. I mean sure I was going to go home to my apartment and relax and watch a movie, but the atmosphere of my place at night is pretty scary. At last I had said goodbye to all of my family and I was out the door. As I walked to my car I heard a fierce “Hoo”, Just an owl I thought to myself as I opened the door. I was right just a little harmless owl. I was cruising down the streets of Lunenburg and there was such a warm warm feeling inside my soul. All theses kid having fun on Halloween night, “What a joy to see all the kids”, I said. I got back to focusing on my driving but I couldn't help but notice that that there was a faint howl as I pulled into the parking lot of the apartment. A black figure approached me coming out of the alley. Alleys are the scariest thing ever at night I thought. Slowly it came towards me growling and snorting. Yellow eyes glowing and piercing my heart with each look I took. It came closer, I didn't know what to do…

It was Christmas morning, and Jimmy woke up and saw all the snow coming down. He screamed really loud “IT’S TIME FOR THE FEAST!” He ran down stairs and didn’t care about the coal under the tree, all he cared about was the food. He ran back upstairs and jumped on his parents bed and screamed “THE FOOD, THE FOOD IT’S TIME TO GO TO MCDONALDS!”

It was dark and gloomy. My dog was scared and he was barking. It was a rainy Friday night. It had been raining for almost 4 hours. Branches were falling off trees and the power was out. The only thing we had for light was a couple of candles. I was scared and shaking. Then the lights turned back on. It was still raining but at least we had light.

The day started as I expected. The snow falling with it’s own unique pattern, and everyone single one had its own design. Everyone had it’s own vision of what they looked like, and nobody thought anything about each other. Every flake made it’s own model in the way it fell. The world became engulfed with every flake. The world fell at it’s own pace.

It was dark. You could hear nothing but the humming of the heater. I was walking down the hallway to find a black shadow at the end of it. I started running toward it. To see the shadow disappeared into the darkness. I ran faster and faster trying to find out what that black shadow was. At the end of the hallway there was a room. A room the size of a big walk in closet. It had a bed, a desk and a big white table. It seemed to look like a doctor's office but it wasn’t. There were no windows, no fun things to do. I felt like i was being tricked. So I ran out of that old room as fast as i could. As i was running i found a door underneath some stairs i opened it and there was a old rusted bathtub in the bathtub was a mask. The mask was green and red there were jagged teeth and yellow eyes. I was so terrified. k.m

I grasped the cold door handle and slightly slid the door open. I stepped out into the cool fall air. People were all around me with food and drinks waiting for the tractor trailer to arrive. With a sudden honk we began to file into the trailer. When everyone was finally on we started to head down the hill at a speedy pace. It was not long before the trailer entered complete darkness. When the ride started to get bumpy I tightened my grip on the side of the trailer. The cart was full of laughs and giggles until it came to a complete stop. We could hear the sound of a golf cart in the distance. We had no clue what was happening until the driver hopped out of the tractor and bolted to the golf cart. There we were twelve of us in the middle of the cold forest. We began hopping out of the cart and running. Sound of leaves scattering in the woods and the heavy breathing all around me. I broke out into a steady jog. People were running everywhere crazy for a while until I was alone. The trees swayed like flowers in the wind. I had been jogging for a while my legs were burning I wanted to stop but I knew I couldn’t. I saw a dark shadow pass in the distance and I jumped back in fear. I was pushing, running as hard as i had ever run before not bothering to look behind me. Sounds were all around me, screams and bangs. Suddenly my face met the cold ground. I got up looking what I had tripped over and saw nothing. I started sprinting as fast as I possibly could I thought I could see a little light in the distance or was it just the moon. I felt like I was going to pass out legs burning and head aching. Before I knew it I emerged back into the light and liveliness of the party gasping for breath when suddenly my vision went black and I fell to the ground once again.

Earlier that day a young Pelicano named Pappy, Pappy wasn't the smartest Pelicano out of the sillies he always got his fishing line stuck in some moving object. Pappy decided to go fishing one day, there was a crack of thunder and the sky decided to ‘cry’ on him. This would be good for Pappy if he had his raft but all he was was a few broken logs and rope. The tides were so strong that Pappy's fishing hook got swept into the air and caught his arm. Pappy like a good pelicano went home to where his parents had been fighting. Garzen his older brother and him decided to sit by their Buddha Statue and eat some walnuts. Later found out that this was just a fantasy and he was just dead there on the beach where Pappy decided to go fishing.

It was a gloomy November night and I was heartbroken. All my dreams had fallen down and crushed me. It all happened so suddenly, and I didn’t see it coming at all. He was gone.
I creeped up my hard wood, cracked stairs not thinking about anything except what had happened three nights ago. It took me about an hour or two to finally crawl into my bed. I couldn’t wrap my head around what had happened. My head was beating faster than my heart. I shut my eyes and started thinking about if it never had happened how much happier I would be. As I rolled from side to side trying to fall asleep I couldn’t help but to let a salty tear run down my face. Before I knew it my mind had finally stopped over thinking and I was dreaming.

A gust of wind pushed my hair across my face. The October air was bitter and crisp. The distant sounds of doorbells and voices filled up my ears. The anticipation was getting to me, and I was overwhelmed by fear. So many faces none of with belonged to a person. Haunted streets seemed to be calling me. We walked side by side up to the steps of a home covered in black. I rang the doorbell, but no one came. I rang it again, and a dark black figure appeared. A cold gust of wind flew out the door. I was standing face to face with a vampire that's face was so nightmarish, I looked over and saw Katherine frozen with fear. As we Ran down the street I could hear the distant screams fading as we got farther down the street.

It was a bright and sunny day, and Faith and I got in the Ski lift and headed up the mountain. A couple minutes up the mountain I looked back and saw a shoe flying out of a Ski chair and landed right next to the alpine slide. Everybody was screaming “Gabby you dropped your shoe!” Nobody had any clue of how to get the shoe back when Olivia said “well just get it when we go down the alpine slide.” When we got to the top of the mountain the worker showed confusion of why gabby didn't have a shoe. He told her that she would need to go down the mountain without a shoe and then get off the track to get it, but in the same sentence he told us if it rains we would need to get of the track immediately and run down the mountain. All of the girls including me were hoping that it didn't rain because gabbys shoe wasn't right on the mountain it was almost in the woods. The worker kept babbling about all of the safety precautions. He finally let us go down the mountain and I came to an abrupt stop to see gabby off the track putting on her shoe! There was a line of girls behind me all wanting to go. Finally gabby got her shoe and we headed down the mountain, and we were all laughing hysterically about gabbys shoe. Once we finished going down the alpine slide we had told Bella's dad and he laughed with us. That Experience was crazy scary and we were all very clueless of how to get it back.

A warm feeling filled my body starting from my head right down to my tingling toes. A relaxing vibe conquered all other unenlightened thoughts floating around in my head. As I peacefully drifted through the beautiful autumn evening, sunlight slowly faded away into a jubilant sunset. Looking up, vibrant colors splattered all over the forest, like an artist rejuvenating the white paper with colors of orange, red, and yellow. These exhilarating pastel colors welcomed me every which way through the fresh scent of nature’s house. I sifted through the true world, a guiding hand assisting me as the assurance inside me fell into the soft breeze of the wind that whispered autumn’s call into my ear. Serenity suffused the forest taking my mind and wrapping it in the arms of a sympathetic mother as if cradling a baby. The soothing thought put myself into a deep, tranquil sleep.

It was a sunny afternoon. My family and I went to six flags. When we got there, the first ride we went on was the superman ride. We ran to wait in the long line. It was worth it though. We finally got in front of the ride. “ Mom can you sit in the front row with me”. I said. “ I guess so”. The rest of my family were sitting behind me and my mom. “ Scan, all clear have a nice time on the super man”. The lady said. I was scared and excited at the same time, mostly scared. My hands were sweating with excitement and fear. The ride started to go up this big hill. While the roller coaster was going up the hill I had a bad feeling there was going to be a big drop. “ AHHHHHHHHHHHH’! That was me screaming at the huge drop that we went on. Then we went inside a big black tunnel. You kinda can’t see if you’re still in the tunnel, it wasn’t that long of a tunnel. When we got out of the tunnel we went in a big loop. It made me dizzy. Finally the ride was over. I was thrilled that the ride was. I was never going to go on superman the next time we go to six flags. It was 5:30, We had to leave and go home. So we went to the car and left to go to the house to eat dinner. I told my mom that I had a blast with her and the the rest of the family and that I was glad that we went together as a big happy family.

It’s a cold, gloomy rainy day at school. Everyone had been in a lonely kind of mood, and everywhere we looked we could only see gray. I was sitting near the window when I hear KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK our classroom door, and as usual I’m the only one who hears it. I get and check who it was. It was the principal so I let him in the classroom, and he went straight towards the teacher. He asked the teacher if he could talk to her out in the hallway she said yes. We all watched them leave the room. All we could hear were mumbles. The teacher came back in she told us that we were having another lock down. We all complained. Then we knew why we were having lock down after lock down after lock down it was because of the storm they were preparing us for the actual lock down. I was pretty sure everyone heard the thunder racing towards us. The teacher announced that we all get in the storm room, as we were leaving the classroom we all heard the roof of the classroom start to leak. “ Great now the room is gonna be damp” I said while I was walking out of the classroom. Then we heard this kind of sad little whistle coming from our shattered classroom window. That’s when we realized that our school wasn’t going to survive this storm.

The vermilion brick building half obliterated stood in the murk filled forest. Eldritch screeches of the savaged animals unnerved me. Scarce lightways made a reflection onto me as if i were a yellow mannequin froze with fear. The view was a real life nightmare. The dark shadows kept walking towards me. I stood hopeless and numb. The crunches of leaves came to a sudden freeze gave me a moment to get to a hideout and finally be free from all the worries of the threatening beasts; but the man hunt never stopped until the creatures vanquished from my sight.

It was the first day that actually felt like fall. I woke up to a breeze coming from my opened window. I could see all the leaves falling and changing colors. It seemed as if just yesterday all the leaves were green, but now they are all different colors from a dark yellow, bright green, blinding orange, and brown. All kinds of different shades and colors. It was beautiful out. The weather was just perfect for me to put on a warm sweater, jeans, and knee-high boots. About 60 degrees... It was the first time since forever that I had no trouble getting out of bed. I was excited for the day. I went downstairs to the kitchen to get myself a pumpkin spice muffin. The pumpkin smell filled the air, and the muffin tasted as good as a million dollars. I had a feeling that, that day was going to be a good day. Since it was so delightful out I decided to invite someone over so that maybe we could go for a walk or something on that gorgeous day... I ended up inviting my cousin, Ashley. Once she came over we started to carve pumpkins and put lights in them. We baked cookies, decorated the house to look like fall, went for a walk, and what we saw was incredible. It was the prettiest thing you could see. The trees were dancing, the wind was singing, and the leaves were falling on top of us as we laughed, skipping through the trails.

The enormous fire cracked ,and I buried myself deeper in the blanket. The warmth surrounded me like a bubble of comfort. I watched the vermilion beast dance and swirl in the fire pit. The taste of graham crackers and bittersweet chocolate was still fresh in my mouth. The distinct smell of the wilderness played along my nostrils. After searching my mind for what seemed like years I have finally found the word for this feeling, safe.

As we scaled up the mountain the chair lift screeched which ran a chill up my spine. We got closer, and closer, and finally I got off onto the crisp white ground that surrounded all around me. Because my old gloves were ripped, and had holes when I went to tighten my boots onto my board the ice that covered my mt board bit at my fingers, like a wolf with sharp, icy teeth. I started my descent down the mountain, and suddenly white flurry's starting dancing down from the heavens. I finished my way down and went inside to get hot cocoa, which was relishing.

I was sitting on a bench beside an old raggedy bus stop and out of nowhere there was a grim roar coming from from the woods. I looked around, but there was nothing in sight. A couple minutes passed by. There it was again, maybe one the scariest things I’ve ever heard. I looked even more, but nothing. I was about to give up before I saw a mysterious light in the woods. I was tempted to go towards the light. I walked to the closer and closer before I fell into a hole. The hole had to be at least 10 ft deep. Trying to get out with all my power I realized that there was no getting out. THe walls made of cements, but from the heavy rain the night before it was slippery, and the ground was wet and muddy. Then there were heavy footsteps getting closer and closer. My heart beating faster and faster every footstep the creature takes. It was huge, tall, strong. And then out of the corner of my eye the was a light a light that I haven’t seen in hours. The light stopped. Hoping that the driver was going to help me. They probably thought that the creature was trying to help me out of a hole that I fell in. Well they got the, I fell in the whole part right. So the got out of the car and ended up being about 7 people in the car. As I was realizing they were helping I cried out “Help, he is going to hurt me”. So they wrestled creature to the ground, and they found an old rope that they had in the back of their van. They also pushed the creature into the whole. NIkki

Bottom of the 9th, no outs, bases loaded for the Rangers. It was six to two us, in the championship. I was at my home position the whole game, and was punched in the gut when I realized coach suddenly put me at…….3rd base. I could always make the throws at 2nd, but I wasn’t ready to make that long bomb from 3rd! ‘What if the ball comes to me’ I thought. ‘What if I can’t make the throw. ‘What if I miss the play!’ With my thoughts soaring back and forth in my head, Tristan (pitcher) winded up, anchoring his arm towards the plate, pivoting his back foot. The pitch……..CRACK! A pop up, on the infield. Tristan called it out first, then Brandon (catcher) did, who eventually made the catch. One out. I kept thinking to myself, ‘What if, what if, what if….’ CRACK! Lined out, straight to Cole (shortstop). Two outs. ‘Good thing that didn’t come to me,’ I said quietly. ‘I wasn’t even paying attention!’ Suddenly, the big mammoth came up to the plate….Joe. He was a righty batter, and a pull hitter! I just knew he was going to crank one, right to me. I squinted, the pitch…….BING! A high fly ball, right over my head, heading to the foul pole, and just curving left. ‘That was close.’ Joe equipped up again, and got one right whizzed right by him. “STRIKE TWO!” called the umpire. Joe geared up once again. ‘Here it comes!’ I ached out, as I developed a sick feeling in my stomach. Tristan pulled back and released.
”STRIKE THREE!”

The ship was taking off to heading to the lighthouse. Parents and children were having fun hours later we arrived at the lighthouse and we dropped the anchor and the adults were swimming for a few hours. Then they got back up on the boat and we took off for mainland while the parents were laughing and talking the children were on the lower deck me included. I went to go pet a white dog it was there to protect us from pirates the white dog was laying down under the seats. with my right arm i went to go pet it and then it bit my arm. I didn't feel anything for a few seconds then I felt warm liquid go down my right arm...blood lots of it and I screamed. My brother got me my mom and dad came down along with the captain they brought me to a medical room of sorts. The captain got a first aid kit and wrapped my arm with bandages I couldn't feel my right arm weeks after my injury we were able to take the bandages off. I had 6 little scars all over my right arm scars that I would carry all my life.

It was the middle of the afternoon and I let my dog outside. She had been out there for a little while before I started to get suspicious. All of the sudden I heard an ear piercing sound! I ran to the door in a flash like a cheetah in action! I opened it and saw my dog barking and running after a squirrel. I thought to myself, that's a relief, at least she isn’t fighting with another dog! About an hour later I went to get her inside, but when I got to her across the yard I noticed something… different. The look on her face was as if she had been bad. Then I saw it, the carcass. The white fur on her face had splotches of red on it.Her teeth were dripping with blood. She had eaten the squirrel.

“Ring, Ring”! Both of our phones rang at the exact same time. I picked mine up and felt my heart sink. I was hoping this would never happen to me… ever. Still in my pj’s I ran to the car tripping over myself. When we arrived at the hospital the sound of pain grabbed me and gave me a hug that wasn’t wanted. The doctor wouldn’t tell us what was wrong, why this happened, or if it would stop. The cold leather on the seats in the waiting room weren’t helping me feel any better. The look on the doctor’s face made me feel worse. I knew that look. My knees hit the ground with tears streaming down my face. Goodbye dad, have a good life in heaven.

As we round the gravel road, the ground grinding under the car like firecrackers going off. As I open my window and the crisp cool early summer night air comes rushing in. The cold grass gently sways with the wind and brushes my legs with sincerity. I try moving my body but a sharp pain runs up my sides and up through my spine, I scream into the night air. Tears cascade down my cheeks and land onto the grass creating a spider web of emotions, my body feels like lead. Even my tears feel as heavy as lead. Images of my life flash before me, my breathing becomes more rapid. I reach up trying to grasp the memories of the ones I loved before they fade away, my strength vanishes into the earth and i’m left with the faded images of him. I cry out again, only to make my body gush out more of the silk like substance. All of my cries no matter what, are in vain. As I take my last breath, I cry out his name one last time. Hoping he will be there too save me.

Skating down the ice makes me remember when I was 6 years old trying to skate. At the first game of this season, I was very nervous and I was very excited. I was standing at the blue line going to the boards then to the middle of the ice, when I heard a “THUMP” at the blade of my stick. I looked down and saw the black circular object resting at the bottom of my stick. I looked up again and saw a kid coming full speed right towards me. So I quickly pulled back my stick and released the puck out of my possesion. It was like everyone was frozen, no one moved. Everyone watched the puck fly across the ice. The goalie trying to save it. The crowd roars!!! I scored.

It was the end of the 1st half and I was in the game for the second half. The score was extremely close, 24-25. We were loosing, I hadn't really done anything the whole game. Sure I scored like 6 points but now it was time put my foot on the gas and keep it there. The second half started with a boom, one of our guys went down hard and hurt his shoulder, but was a trooper and stayed in the game with limited playing time. By the half of the time left to go the score was 36-37. We needed to step it up, now!!! me and Johnny started a fast break and I got fouled on the shot, and the shot went in!
I went to the line knowing that this shot would put us on line for a demanding lead in the game. I took my three dribbles and spun the ball on my left hand, took one more hard dribble and focused on the rim. I had my mine set on winning this game. I fired the shot, It looked like it was up there for hours, days, weeks, months, even years! Finally it went in. Then we just ran the clock out and we won the game! 40-37

It was February 2nd 2015. My brother and I were watching the T.V. Our Hearts were pounding for heartbreak or excitement. They were moving down the field, until me and my brothers hearts were broken by of a crazy catch that put them in the ten yard line. First and goal we they them at the one. We knew they were going to score and go back to back. Until a man out of nowhere made a play in possibly the most bone headed play call in the history history. An interception at the one yard line with twenty six seconds left. My brother and I were jumping around like monkeys going on a rampage. It took us an eternity to sleep after a moment like that. Our hearts were facing disappointing highway until something made it go up to the stairway to happiness.

I headed to Cape Cod for my soccer tournament. Traffic was horrible . It was like turtles on the road. The sky was an ocean with a chilly breeze. We finally get there. I hung out with my team running like cheetahs sounding like elephants. The next day was our first game. I pushed myself to the limits. I ran harder. It got harder to breathe each time I ran. We tied 1-1. The second game was good too. I pushed myself harder. Shoved girls to the ground to win the tackle. We tied again 1-1. We went back to the hotel. The next day was gloomy. It poured as if the clouds were crying. It was a gooey mud we had to play in. We lost 2-1. It was a depressing day. Our second game got cancelled, and I was a freeze pop after the game. Shivering, sick, and cold.

As I walked out onto the floor with my leotard covered in rhinestones, I presented to the judge and started my routine. I could feel the loud music sway through my bones. As I ran into my tumbling pass my cold body flipped as high as the sky. I slowly glanced over and saw the judge scribbling something down on his paper. As my routine ended i had a feeling that i did really well...Later on at awards my name got called for 2nd place all around.

It was getting late. Almost ten-o’clock at night. My fingers were numb, and my lips were turning blue. I was almost home, but something seemed to pull me back. Like something was orbiting me. The presence took me into a dark haze. Something hopped into the middle of the road and I crashed my bike. My eyes began to shut, and someone was talking to me in a low soothing voice. When I woke up I was at home, but it wasn’t home like I know it. My family was gone. Where were they?
An hour passed and nobody was home, but the presence was back. This time, pulling me harder. Then, something hit me and everything went black. It looked like I was in a dream. I was at a grim hospital, and all the lights were off. My mother was there, but not my brother. She was in a hospital gown, and she was not herself. She was floating like a mysterious storm cloud. Something was controlling her. I walked toward her and then she suddenly went back on her feet. She looked at me with cloudy eyes. She was hypnotizing me. My breath went cold, and I, to, was suddenly controlled, never to be independent again.

It was a dark and scary night. I wasn't alone my friend was there. I was walking home from his house. It was really late around 1:00 am. We could hear loud noises that sounded like gunshots. The sound was getting closer we ran and hid we didn't know what was going on we stayed hidden for a while. We called his dad to come pick us up. We waited about an hour at a nearby park and then tried to contact his dad again but his dad had fallen asleep. We had walk for another hour before we would get to my house. So we started walking. We were almost home when we heard a loud explosion. There was a car fire and the battery had exploded. A lot of people were there we asked if they had called the fire department and they told us they had. We finally reached my house around 3:30 am and we were locked out. Then i remembered that my window was unlocked and we climbed in. When i woke up it was all a dream my friend wasn't there and i had been home all night.

It was a dark November night the wind was howling like a banshee. I hear something in the woods I start running almost as I just, robbed a bank. I can hear “click” “click”behind me. It sounds like a dragon. I wipe the dripping sweat off my forehead, it was a waterfall on my forehead. I get the guts to turn around I realize it was just a tiny poor old field mouse. It starts to downpour like I’m standing under Niagara falls. I decide to run into the woods. I find this beautiful mossy bed. I lay down and decide to fall asleep. When I woke up I was in the hospital there was laughter I never heard before. I realized I've been in a coma for 5 years I was like sleeping beauty. But was it all real I asked my dazed up mind over and over. Until I passed out I saw myself there lying no motions helpless my family was around me crying there outs out. I woke up in a freak panic it was just all a dream.

t was the bottom of the sixth inning we were losing 2-5. There were runners on 2nd and 3rd. If we won this game then we were on to the championship.1 out Charlie Waltz was up to bat. I could tell how tense he was. There 2 strikes and 1 ball., and I was hoping for the best. Charlie looked very agitated, and he definitely did not want to get out. The pitcher, his face like a angry viking. The pitcher was coming into his set position, looking like he was going to throw the ball 100 miles per hour. He wanted that out. Charlie looked down at coach, coach said”smash kiddo”, with an angry look on his face. I closed my eyes, Crack! I looked up and saw the ball soaring through the air, and I could tell it was gone. The look on Charlie's face was mindblowing. When Charlie got into the dugout he was screaming “am I dreaming?!” Coach said “that was a bomb kid”. He had just tied up the game, 5-5. The next batter got out. Now I was on deck, anxious I wanted to get up. Coach gave him the bunt sign, that meant that he wanted me up, and that he trusted me to get a base hit. He bunted in for a single, Safe! yelled the umpire. I was up. I walked out to the plate looked down at coach and he said” you know what you need to do” ,and I did. Before I stepped in I looked down at first base where my dad was standing. He gave the look and I knew that it meant crush it. In my head I was thinking crush it , crush it over and over again. It was so nerve wracking being in that position and potentially being able to get a walk off and win the game for my team. The pitch was coming in it felt like time had just stopped and I was in control. Then all of a sudden it was back to normal, and I swung my little heart out and Crack! When I heard that I knew that I had just won the game. The ball was sailing over the left fielder's head , and it dropped in for a walk off. My whole team ran out onto the field and picked me up. Then my coach came over, put me on his shoulders and said “Danny we did it”.
